Saving Without Sacrificing Brand Loyalty

As a value shopper, my demand for brand-specific products is elastic. I easily switch brands (or to private label) in search of the best price. However, for certain items like infant formula, diapers, cosmetics, razors, and condiments, I am brand loyal. Even though my demand for these is somewhat price inelastic, I do find ways of saving on these items and finding the cheapest price through coupons, samples, and discount retailers. How? Recently, Mayor Bloomberg announced a proposed ban on selling any cup or bottle of sweetened drink larger than 16 fluid ounces in New York City.
